Stop paying for voicemails before they ever answer
ATRIA sits between your dialer and the carrier, listens to the ringing window and cancels voicemails and network messages before the call is answered. No answered call, no billed minute, the channel is free again and no agent ever listens to a voicemail.
ATRIA: Voicemail Detection Before the Call Is Answered
ATRIA is the Gazeti Telecomm platform that sits in the SIP path between a call center dialer and the carrier, recognizes voicemails and network messages (number does not exist, out of coverage, suspended and others) before the call is answered, cancels it and returns the reason to the dialer. A person cannot speak before answering: everything you hear while the call rings is put there by the network. ATRIA listens to that window. No answered call, no billed minute, the channel is free and no agent listens to a voicemail.
| When it decides | Before the call is answered: the voicemail minute is never billed |
| What it recognizes | 9 reasons: voicemail, number does not exist, suspended or restricted, off or out of coverage, busy, congestion or network failure, call screening, special ringback and data message or IVR |
| Changes to your dialer | 0: point your dialer at ATRIA like any carrier, over a standard SIP trunk with G.711 audio. No development required |
| Dialers | Any SIP dialer: Vicidial, Asterisk, Genesys, Avaya, Mitrol and others |
| Termination | Over Gazeti routes or the carrier you already have |
| Reply to the dialer | The SIP code with the reason (480, 404, 403, 486, 503), adjustable per trunk and dialer profile, plus headers with the class and the confidence |
| When in doubt | The call goes through untouched. If any piece of the platform failed, the call continues as normal |
| Coverage | Mexico. It knows the announcements of Mexican operators |
A person cannot speak before answering
While a call rings, everything you hear is put there by the network: the ringback tone, the voicemail greeting, the number-does-not-exist announcement, the suspended or out-of-coverage message. Nobody on the other end has said a word. ATRIA listens to exactly that window. If it recognizes a voicemail or a network message, it cancels the call before it is answered and tells your dialer why. Because the call was never answered, the minute is not billed, the channel is free right away and no agent is left listening to a voicemail.
How it works
Your dialer, any SIP dialer, sends calls to ATRIA like it would to any carrier. ATRIA passes them to the termination you choose, Gazeti routes or the carrier you already have, and listens to the network audio while the call rings. When it recognizes a voicemail or a network message at the confidence you set, it cancels before answer and returns the SIP code with the reason: 480 for voicemail, 404 for a number that does not exist, 403 for suspended, 486 for busy, 503 for congestion. Your dialer already knows what to do with each one: retry at another time, remove the number from the list or try another route.
When in doubt, the call goes through
If ATRIA does not recognize what it hears, or is not sure, it does not step in: the call rings as normal, a person answers and your agent takes it with no delay and no change to the audio. If any piece of the platform failed, the call continues. Hanging up on a customer costs more than paying for a voicemail. For voicemails that answer without a prior network message there is a second layer, enabled per trunk: ATRIA can recognize them in the first seconds and hang up to free the channel and the agent's time.
Why with Gazeti
Before they answer
A traditional detector decides after the call was answered, when the minute is already billed. ATRIA decides while it rings: the voicemail never gets answered.
The exact reason, not a yes or no
Your dialer receives which of the 9 reasons applied and with what confidence, and every cut can be reviewed and listened to in the portal.
0 changes to your dialer
No development required. Your dialer points at ATRIA like any carrier and termination stays with your carrier or with Gazeti.
The window nobody was listening to
While the call rings, everything you hear is put there by the network. ATRIA listens to that window: if it recognizes a voicemail or a network message, it cancels before the call is answered and tells your dialer why. If a person answers, the call goes through untouched.
What your dialer sees
This is how ATRIA answers your dialer: the same SIP code it already understands, plus the reason and the confidence in headers. Two cases, a voicemail and a number that does not exist, with fictitious numbers and the real structure of the reply.
Animated demo of ATRIA signaling. Case one: the dialer sends an INVITE, the carrier replies 183 with network audio, ATRIA recognizes the voicemail greeting, sends CANCEL before the 200 OK and replies to the dialer 480 Temporarily Unavailable with the headers X-Atria-Class voicemail, X-Atria-Confidence 0.97 and Reason ATRIA voicemail. Reading: voicemail, the dialer will retry at another time, minute not billed. Case two: the network audio says the number does not exist, ATRIA cancels and replies 404 Not Found; the dialer will remove the number from the list, minute not billed. Fictitious numbers, real structure.
Traditional detector and ATRIA
The answering machine detector built into your dialer decides after the call was answered. ATRIA decides before. Those few seconds change who pays the minute, what the person who answers hears and what your dialer knows about every attempt.
| Traditional detector | ATRIA | |
|---|---|---|
| When it decides | After the call is answered | Before the call is answered |
| Voicemail minute | Already billed | Not billed |
| Risk with people | It may hang up on the person who answered | Before answer there is no person; when in doubt, it goes through |
| Silence on answer | The person waits for the detector | None: the call goes through untouched |
| Result | Yes or no | The exact reason with its confidence level |
| Mexican networks | Generic | Knows the announcements of Mexican operators |
| Evidence | No | Every cut can be reviewed and listened to |
What ATRIA recognizes and tells your dialer
Every reason reaches your dialer as a SIP code it already understands. Codes are adjustable per trunk and per dialer profile.
| Reason | Example | What the dialer usually does | Default SIP code |
|---|---|---|---|
| Voicemail | "Leave your message after the tone" | Retry at another time | 480 |
| Number does not exist | "The number you dialed does not exist" | Remove it from the list | 404 |
| Suspended or restricted | "The number is suspended" | Remove it or retry in weeks | 403 |
| Off or out of coverage | "Out of the service area" | Retry in hours | 480 |
| Busy | Busy tone or message | Retry in minutes | 486 |
| Congestion or network failure | "Your call could not be connected" | Retry over another route | 503 |
| Call screening | An assistant asking who is calling | Treat as not contacted | 480 (label only by default) |
| Special ringback | A ringback melody (Contestón) | Goes through: a person may still answer | Not cut |
| Data message or IVR | A company switchboard | Goes through or label only | Not cut |

No conversations are recorded
ATRIA does not record conversations. It only keeps the network audio before answer, as evidence of each cut, for 7 days and with every access logged.
After the call is answered no audio is kept.
Call audio is processed in Mexico.
Your dialer points at ATRIA like any carrier
Standard SIP trunk with G.711 audio: your dialer sends calls to ATRIA exactly as it would to a carrier. Termination goes out over Gazeti routes or the carrier you already have. No development required.
If your dialer does not read headers, the SIP code is enough. A lookup API and a signed webhook for every terminated call also let you take the reason into your CRM or your reports.

Frequently asked questions
What is ATRIA?
ATRIA is the Gazeti Telecomm platform that sits in the SIP path between a call center dialer and the carrier. It recognizes voicemails and network messages (number does not exist, out of coverage, suspended and others) before the call is answered, cancels it and tells the dialer why with a SIP code. Because the call is never answered, the minute is not billed, the channel is free and no agent listens to a voicemail.
How can it know it is a voicemail before anyone answers?
Because a person cannot speak before answering. Everything you hear while the call rings is put there by the network: the tone, the voicemail greeting, the number-does-not-exist announcement. ATRIA listens to that window and knows the announcements of Mexican operators. When it recognizes one at the confidence you set, it cancels before answer.
What happens if ATRIA is not sure?
The call goes through. If it does not recognize what it hears, or is in doubt, it does not step in: the call rings, a person answers and your agent takes it with no delay and no change to the audio. If any piece of the platform failed, the call continues as normal. Hanging up on a customer costs more than paying for a voicemail.
How is it different from the answering machine detector my dialer already has?
A traditional detector decides after the call was answered: the minute is already billed, the person who answered waits in silence and sometimes gets hung up on. ATRIA decides before answer, returns the exact reason with its confidence level, knows Mexican networks and keeps evidence of every cut. For voicemails that answer without a prior network message, ATRIA also has a second layer that can be enabled per trunk.
Do I have to change my dialer or my carrier?
No. 0 changes to your dialer: any SIP dialer (Vicidial, Asterisk, Genesys, Avaya, Mitrol and others) points at ATRIA like any carrier, over a standard SIP trunk with G.711 audio. Termination can stay with the carrier you already have or go over Gazeti routes. If your dialer does not read headers, the SIP code is enough.
Does ATRIA record calls?
It does not record conversations. It only keeps the network audio before answer, as evidence of each cut, for 7 days and with every access logged. After answer no audio is kept. Call audio is processed in Mexico.
How much does it cost and how do I start?
ATRIA is software as a service: a monthly fee per contracted concurrent channel, with no lock-in term and nothing to install. The price is defined with you based on your channels. You start in measurement mode at no cost: ATRIA shows what it would have cut on your real traffic, without cutting anything, and you turn on cutting once you see results.
